Belvedere Cross - Visit Serravalle
Belvedere Cross

The Belvedere Cross, 20 meters tall and located at 496 meters above sea level in the Montalbano hills within the municipality of Serravalle Pistoiese, was erected in the early 1900s to commemorate the Jubilee Year. It stands on the site of a former medieval fortress. The original wooden cross, which later collapsed, was replaced in 1928 by an iron one, blessed by Monsignor Chelucci. Restored in 1984, it marked its centenary in 2000 with a solemn ceremony. From here, the view stretches from the Valdinievole valley to the sea.
